Most vehicles today are applied with what’s known as, base coat clear coat application. These paints, depending on manufacturer range in a variety of surface finishes commonly referred to as soft to hard paints. Vehicles also come in what is known as, single stage paints. While the vast majority of single stage vehicles will be older or classics, some manufacturers are still using single stage applications today. From light scratching, swirls, or holograms, environmental damage such as iron fallout in the air and harsh compounds such as overspray.
